United Nations Commissions are a good way for our members to learn about the link between direct service and international systemic change. During two weeks NGOs come from all over the world.

Commission on Social Development: February 6-15, 2013. The theme is “Promoting empowerment of people in achieving poverty eradication, social integration and full employment and decent work for all”

Commission on the Status of Women: March 4-15, 2013. The theme is “Elimination and Prevention of all Forms of Violence against Women and Girls”

Commission on Population and Development: April 22-26, 2013. The theme is “Recent Migrations Trends: Demographic Aspects”

Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues: May 20-31, 2013. “Five Year Commemoration of the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and review of progress”
